Brandon Vogel is a freelance writer and editor in Omaha, Neb. He once wrote a joke about the connection between Ice Cube, the Winchell’s Donut chain and 2007 Kentucky Derby contender Zanjero. It was relatively well received, allowing him to write other things.
Regardless of what anyone else thinks, Brandon considers himself an expert on mid-1990s college basketball uniforms, sausage casings, the fictional athletic career of Chip Hilton, movie anachronisms, the colors associated with academic degrees, and the complete Drive-By Truckers catalog. He knows comparatively little about antique timepieces, brewing beer at home, mid-century design, curing a country ham, or tanning leather but he likes those things as well.
Brandon has never been completely comfortable writing his own bio in the third-person or taking pictures of himself for the Internet.
Shortly after graduating with an MFA in creative writing (brown) from Emerson College in 2005 he was on the fast track to becoming an accomplished backyard barbecue pitmaster capable of churning out masterful ribs and a pretty good brisket until somebody stole his Weber Smokey Mountain cooker off the back porch.
If you have any information pertaining to the whereabouts of this grill – it’s black with a pair of stainless steel grates and has no distinguishing marks – or you just want to hire him to write something for you so he can pay for a new one feel free to email or find him on Twitter.
